Ink & Watercolours for Fashion Illustration

Ink & Watercolours for Fashion Illustration

A$250.00

Indian Ink and watercolour paints are in my opinion the most beautiful media to work with, and can give you an endless variety of results, from the softest whisper to the most dynamic and bold. For the novice however they can be frustrating to wrangle. What you need is some information about the variables surrounding this media, some key techniques instruction, and practice.

This one-day in-person workshop will be creative, fun, and very informative.  We’ll explore techniques for each medium, learning about the importance of paper, brushes, and pigments. I’ll also demonstrate how you can get some fabulous fashion figures down on the page quickly, then use a variety of the techniques we’ve learned to produce some beautiful fashion artworks. While the workshop is geared towards fashion illustration, the information and techniques apply to all art styles.

There will be snacks and afternoon tea!

What do you need to bring?

I will be supplying paper, paints, and ink, so you will just need:

  • Greylead pencils HB, 2B

  • Erasers: white rubber style, kneadable (optional)

  • Coloured pencils (you may not want to use these but they are useful)

  • Paint palette, 2 x cups or jars for water.

  • Brushes; tapered tip style: 1 each fine, medium, thick (for example sizes 4, 8 12).  Others will be very useful but are optional – a flat brush (straight or angled) is wonderful to have.
