Westwood | Kawakubo Fashion Illustration workshop
Westwood | Kawakubo Fashion Illustration workshop
Sunday February 15th, 10am - 4pm
Presented as part of the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Independent Program.
Learn and polish your fashion illustration skills while illustrating looks from the NGV Westwood | Kawakubo exhibition.
This one-day workshop will begin with sketching in the gallery at the NGV Westwood | Kawakubo exhibition, exploring different approaches to drawing the fabulous designs on display “from life”.
After lunch we move to a nearby workshop space for a fashion illustration workshop covering the core fundamentals of fashion illustration and how to sketch dynamic fashion figures “from scratch”. These skills will be applied to a mixed media fashion illustration artwork featuring designs from both Vivienne Westwood and Rae Kawakubo, as seen in the exhibition.
All materials are provided, and reference notes given to take home. *You just need to bring your own paint brushes (if this is a problem just contact me and I can help you on this.)
BONUS: Participants have exclusive access to recorded demonstrations of all exercises for one month after the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for all levels including beginners. More experienced artists will be guided through more advanced approaches.
